In the world there are airports whose names are related to music, but usually we are talking about the famous composers Mozart, Chopin, Sheet. However, the residents of New Orleans, of course, could not honor the memory of one of the most famous of its inhabitants. So the airport is located 19 km from the town, bears the name of Louis Armstrong. He was named in 2001 for the centenary of the famous musician.

The airport does not impresses with its size and consists of only one modest terminal with four rooms — but all that will change in may of 2019, when you open a large new terminal. Overall, and today at the airport a good estimate of passengers: they say he is interesting for its festive decor in the halls and sometimes live music.

Himself Louis Armstrong needs no introduction — the famous jazz trumpeter and singer, had a huge impact on the development of jazz music and its promotion around the world. Probably in the head you have already played one of his most famous songs — “What a wonderful world” or “Let my people go”.

Louis was born in one of the poorest areas of New Orleans in a dysfunctional family at an early age and moved in with my grandmother. In seven years he began to help around the house a family of Jewish immigrants Karnofsky, who eventually took him in and later gave the money to buy his first musical instrument — a cornet.

And music fate of the boy, oddly, predetermined boot camp for Teens, where twelve-year-old Louis has got for a shooting with a stolen gun on the street. There is a future musician played in the band on tambourine and clarinet, received a musical education and decided to become a musician. How it ended, all of us well-known Chicago, new York, jazz ensembles and, finally, lifetime the title of a jazz legend.

The second largest airport of Milan, which fly domestic flights and international low-cost airlines, is named after Enrico Forlanini — not too well-known in the world, but left a huge mark in the hearts of the Milanese inventor.

Forlanini, born in Milan, spent his adult life designed aircraft — balloons, airships and airplanes. Also invented the hydrofoil boat, which has successfully been tested in 1905, and in 1909 built an airship, called the “Leonardo da Vinci”. Certainly the famous Italian would be proud of his successor.

The most famous in the world Forlanini world’s first model helicopter with a steam engine, which is constructed as much in 1877. The device is, of course, had little to do with modern helicopters, at least because during the flight rotates in a direction opposite to the rotation of the upper screw (but of course with less speed). However, dizzy pilots did not have time: flight duration up to 20 seconds. To climb such a helicopter could up to a height of 13 meters.

The Italians believe Enrico aviation pioneer, is worthy of the name were the whole airport, the second largest in Milan and the closest to the city — the centre is just 7 km away. If you want to visit it personally, keep in mind that in 2019 it will be closed for three months, from 27 July to 27 October. During this time, will update the runway. And the only terminal will be reconstructed later, in several stages — however, to close the airport it does not need.

Kazantzakis’s death was a tragic accident on his way to Japan he, along with other passengers the flight was vaccinated against Asian flu, but the drug caused blood poisoning. By the time the body of the writer had been weakened, and finally in 1957 Kazantzakis died of leukemia.
